Travis likes his new "Utes" shoes. :) Travis, Scott's mom, and I arrived at Shriners in time for their ice cream sundae time to kick of their Customer Service Appreciation Week.

We saw Mike Pond, the orthopedic guy, in the lobby as we were getting ready to go back to pick up the shoe. Mike got to meet Noah the NF Bear. Mike Pond came with us into orthotics and checked Travis over as they were getting the shoe. He also talked over his concerns with Rich, the shoe guy, and that things aren't as simple for Travis as other patients (Travis' left side is weaker). He said to try it, see how it goes, and adjust as necessary. He'll see Travis next month and can see how it's going.

The new shoe was brought in, holes (15 holes, T counted) in the foam to make it lighter, and it was lighter than the current shoe. The sole would be added once T and the PT gave a "thumbs up" for the lift amount. We headed upstairs to PT and try the new lift.

Wow...the new lift makes a great difference in Travis' walking, he isn't as hunched over as he was before. May this help out T's lower neck/upper back pain. Travis walked a little ways with the walker to get used to the shoe and then without the walker. T was landing heel first and able to maneuver with the wider base on the new lift. :) This was by far the best adjustment T has had to a new lift. Praise God! Since the shoe worked, Rich (the shoe guy) got the "thumbs up" and took the shoe downstairs to add the sole and have the shoe ready for us to pick up after PT.

Travis wore his new shoes to Nolan's hockey game tonight. He's doing great with the adjustment so far. :) Thank you for the prayers.
