Travis received his new leg brace from Shriners on Monday. They did a wonderful job again, see the pictures below. This one hinges at the ankle to allow for more movement to help with natural body movements. Travis has been used to having his ankle supported and has not used the ankle much since he fractured in June. He went from the cast to wearing the brace except at night and hasn't really walked without the brace, which is ok. During his Physical Therapy session on Monday he adapted fairly quick to the new brace. He went from not wanting to walk in it at all to walking by himself in an hour. :) Way to go Travis! He's still adjusting to the new range of motion and is doing great.

| Pretty cool. |
Dr. Viskochil wanted a repeat blood draw this past Monday to check Travis' white blood count. Dr. Viskochil is at a conference; however, Travis' pediatrician looked over the results and the numbers are looking good. He said that Travis is a little anemic, but that could be due to the illness. The pediatrician will defer to Dr. Viskochil at this time to determine if/when another blood draw will be done and another look over of the blood levels. It'll be good when we are able to meet with Dr. Viskochil and go over Travis' new medical options.
This Saturday begins the 24 Hours at Daytona and we'll be cheering on the Children's Tumor Foundation/Racing4Research/Magnus Racing Porche team as they raise funds and NF awareness. The CTF Utah Chapter is hosting a race watching party on Saturday to watch part of the race and cheer on the team through live chat. Let's Go Racing!
Very cool, and I see he's got the hinged ankle. Mine doesn't have that feature and is plain black. I have AFO envy. :)
