I heard from the research coordinator this afternoon and Travis' blood work showed that his LDL cholesterol was slightly elevated compared with the blood work before he started the rapamycin. This could be due to what he ate prior to the blood draw, so we will need to keep a food diary for him for the next 3 days. We knew that his cholesterol could be elevated from the rapamycin, so this isn't surprising news. At least his blood work will be followed closely on this drug trial and this is one of the common side effects.
We should find out later this week if the dosage increase moved his target trough level to his range set by the study. This blood work is sent to a separate lab than the one checking his cholesterol. Travis continues to do great taking his medicine and he continues to amaze us.
Kelly, thanks the updates and pictures. I don't seem to have your email and J changed the password on facebook and it doesn't seem to be working. hmmmmm
