Overall Travis' appointment with Dr. Viskochil today went well. No volumetric results from Travis' October MRI, we all hope the assessment will be performed before 2.5 months pass by. No results from Travis' lab work during the appointment, the computer system to look information up was down. Dr. Viskochil will let us know the rapamycin results, available to him on Wednesday morning, even if the amount is in range since past illnesses change how Travis' body processes the medication.
Travis weighed ~1.5 less pounds than October and his thigh circumference measurements decreased, no surprise with T being sick. Dr. Viskochil noted more hair growing out of part of the thigh plexiform and the lower tibia plexiform. He also observed a slight color change in the thigh region, yet the tumor itself felt similar to October's exam. No changes at this time, Travis is to continue on the rapamycin at least until we get volumetric results.
Unfortunately it took 2 "pokes" to get the minimum amount of blood needed for the lab work. Travis was super brave through it all and helped as much as he could. He passed on toys and chose a chocolate donut with chocolate frosting and rainbow sprinkles for breakfast. Travis didn't want a picture of the donut, trust me there were plenty of sprinkles. ;)
Thursday brings his routine orthopedic exam at Shriners. We have a few questions about Travis' knee and between the toe sensitivity. Until the next appointment....
