Easter Egg Hunts and Wheelchair Appointment

Travis' wheelchair appointment at Shriners brought some fun surprises, this was the one rescheduled from the week before when he was sick. The parking lot was full when we arrived, we didn't realize that Shriners was having an Easter Egg Hunt and party with face painters, crafts, and a petting zoo. While waiting at the check-in area, Travis decided he would like to have a blue and green butterfly painted on his face. (We saw the "Flight of the Butterflies" at the Clark Planetarium twice recently). T's seat on his chair needed tightening up, some screws had almost worked their way out, and they lowered the foot platform.

Soon after his chair was ready, it was time for the Easter Egg Hunt. Travis decided to walk to gather eggs and he collected 3 during the main hunt. One Target volunteer saw that T had a few eggs and Travis ended up with 14 Easter Eggs. T wanted to go into the petting zoo and thought the baby goat was pretty cute, except when it tried to eat T's shoelaces, backpack pull, anything dangling.  ;)

Saturday morning brought the annual Easter Egg Hunt at our church (Christ United Methodist Church). Travis had a blast hunting for eggs and meeting new friends. ABC4 was there filming for their Saturday's newscasts and T was interviewed, although he didn't make it on air (still cool though).

We returned home and dyed our own Easter Eggs in the afternoon, always a fun process.

Sunday morning brought lots of excitement for all the boys and you could hear T exclaim "Yes" when he saw his Easter basket. Nolan enjoyed helping Travis find the eggs hidden around the house.

Tonight ends the 3 day food diet, I think he did great considering it was Easter weekend. I laugh since the 2 prior 3 day food diets occurred during his preschool Christmas party and Valentine's Day. Tomorrow morning brings the exam for the end of Rapamycin course 2 exam and blood draw. Travis also sees the surgeon in the afternoon for his yearly exam.
