Miracle League Game

Travis had a blast playing in his first baseball game Saturday. He (and the rest of us) had been looking forward to this day for a long time. Travis decided he wanted Barrett to be his buddy during the game and  Barrett was wonderful. This was a great bonding time for them. In Miracle League games, each player on both teams gets a chance to bat each inning and there are no outs, this reminded me of the Rookie League Nolan and Barrett played in when they were Travis' age.

Travis decided he wanted to walk and run the bases, this field accommodates wheelchairs with ease. Travis hit the ball and he was off and running. As he reached home plate and scored he commented, "That was awesome!". Travis and Barrett played 3rd base the first inning we were defense and Travis decided it was fun to run to home plate with the last few batters of the other team. ;)

The second inning started and Travis wanted to be one of the first few batters, there is no batting order. You could easily tell Travis was having fun. He hit the ball and he was ready to round all the bases for a 2nd time. Travis and Barrett decided to play left field for the bottom of the 2nd inning, they had a blast together.

After the game the teams lined up to shake hands, Travis knew exactly what to do after watching Nolan and Barrett's hockey, baseball, lacrosse, football games. He had a great time and is looking forward to playing again this Saturday.
