Travis - H3N2 Influenza

We found out this morning Travis has the flu, H3N2 strain. He was in the window for Tamiflu and started that this morning. He feels pretty good for having the flu and is doing good at the moment. He had a pretty determined fever last night even with ibuprofen and Tylenol, we'll see what this evening brings when fevers tend to run higher.

Travis saw another pediatrician in his dr's office yesterday afternoon, T's pediatrician was off yesterday. That dr did send us over to Primary Children's for the flu test. We have a copy of Travis' bloodwork and it shows that T is fighting something. While it stinks for him to be sick now, better now than before the trip to Florida and before starting Rapamycin. (That has been my mantra to get me through the past few days). The flu bug is nasty here and lots of people are sick, probably the same as other places across the country.

Nolan and Barrett were also fighting off something this week, both well enough and fever free long enough to return to school today. Barrett goes in for his 9 year old well child check in a little while, so we'll get some more answers then. UPDATE: Barrett got a breathing treatment at his checkup and a prescription for steroids to help with his cough. He has reactive airways have flared up this year and 2 back-to-back harsh viruses didn't help at all. He wasn't over the first virus when the 2nd one came along. He's doing much better tonight.

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers. Here's to having this behind ALL of us as we get ready for Florida.
