Travis felt good enough to go to his routine orthopedic surgeon (Dr. Jones) follow-up appointment for his femur fracture. Unfortunately I caught whatever Travis had, so I was not able to attend this appointment. The good news, Travis' fracture continues to heal. :) Dr. Jones said he would not consider taking the plate out for at least a year and the bone would still be pretty fragile without the plate. There are no plans to take the plate out, but having the plate in the leg may complicate further surgeries down the road (fixing the knee and correcting leg length difference).
All in all, a great appointment for Travis. He is feeling somewhat better, still not back to his usual self. Even the staff at school commented this week that he wasn't his usual, cheery self. Here's to all of us feeling better this weekend.
