Update and Upcoming Appointments

Last week's peg-interferon shot plagued Travis through the weekend and into this week. :(  He got a high fever on Thursday night, 102.3F, and spent most of the weekend with fatigue. He was doing well in the afternoon and we forgot to give him his 2nd dose of Tylenol around 6p. (We were asked if he still needs that dose when we were at the NIH in October, some patients can wean off some after meds over time. Travis is not one of those patients.) His fever shot up around bedtime and he slept ok through the night.

Although his temperature returned to normal on Friday morning, you could tell he didn't feel good by looking at him. He stayed home from school on Friday and he spent most of the weekend resting. Travis stayed at school all day on Monday; however, I received a call on Tuesday that he wasn't feeling good. :(  Still no fever, but something remains around enough to zap his energy. He saw his pediatrician and no cause was identified. He went to school today and was feeling good enough to go on his field trip.

This week for Travis ends with 2 orthopedic follow-up appointments. Tomorrow Travis sees Mike Pond (ortho guy) at Shriners for a routine 6 month follow-up. This will be Mike's first time seeing T since the femur fracture. Travis always has fun with Mike. Friday T returns to see Dr. Jones (orthopedic surgeon) for a femur fracture follow-up. Travis continues to use his walker at school and gets around the house pretty good. May we get great news at both appointments.

Today marks 4 years since Travis began taking medicine in his first clinical trial. He continues to amaze and inspire all around him. We are truly blessed.
