Thoughts a Year Out

52 weeks ago tomorrow (Tues) during a routine rapamycin follow-up with Dr. Viskochil we learned that Travis' tumor progressed ~40% in 6 months. Tomorrow (Tues) brings Travis' yearly genetics exam with Dr. Viskochil and a whole host of emotions for me.

Over the past year, our family faced the decision to enroll Travis in a clinical trial (it didn't get easier the second time around). This decision lead to Travis and I traveling to the NIH 3 times to enroll Travis in a clinical trial that involves us giving Travis a weekly injection of Peg-interferon, a mild form of chemo. Yet in this past year, Travis continues to keep going, inspiring others along the way, usually with his trademark smile.
