Tuesday's Genetics Appointment, Swimming, July 4th

Travis saw Dr. Viskochil on Tuesday for his regular appointment being on Rapamycin. Travis looks good and the labs that were in from the blood draw (CBC, liver enzymes, triglycerides) were all good. The measurements around T's thighs were more in line with what was measured before he got sick. Travis is more tender in the area above his left knee compared to the past, but otherwise looks good. Dr. Viskochil and Dr. Randall have not met up to discuss the MRI changes in Travis' left femur.
The donut, a friend rightly commented they didn't
think any more sprinkles could fit on that donut. ;)
Nolan asked Dr. Viskochil about the 2nd plexiform noted in April's MRI. We looked on the MRI and the area described in the MRI report didn't show much of anything. Dr. V felt, if anything, it may be something along the line of the plexiforms they see on MRI before they grow, if it would even grow.

Travis completed swimming lessons and had a great time. Tuesday was the day his class swam in regular clothes. Great idea to have the kids in regular clothes for a time since things can happen by water when you're wearing regular clothes also. We did keep his shoes and brace off though.

Travis walks lots more using his walker and his new brace is good too. We were shopping the other day and he wanted to look at and buy "Cars" shoes. We both were in tears as he tried on the shoes (didn't work with his brace) and I had to explain to him why we couldn't get them. We've bought 2 pairs of the same shoes in different sizes before and these shoes don't hold up nearly as well as his Keeping Pace (special needs shoes) shoes. My heart breaks for him.

Scott's at the West Fork Complex in southwest Colorado as the IMET for the east side of the fire. Travis is doing good and gets that dad's not right at the fire. We are thankful for our friends in Salt Lake keeping tabs on the kids and I while he's gone. This morning we met up with friends to watch a 4th of July parade and breakfast. We all had fun collecting candy and watching the parade go by. I think T's favorite car was the "Sheriff".
Almost time for the parade to begin.
Neat view of Barrett watching "Sheriff"
Happy 4th of July and stay safe.
