Shriners Bike and Upcoming Geneticist Appointment

Last Friday (Feb 24th) I received a call from Travis' Physical Therapist at Shriners.  Travis' bike was ready!!!  It was hard keeping the secret from Travis all weekend, but thought he would like the surprise at PT on Monday.  The bike is AMAZING and Travis quickly figured out how easy the bike pedals and steers.  We can help push him using only 1 finger on the back.  Very, very nice.

...and we're biking around Shriners.

Look at T go!

Biking at home.

Working hard and having fun.

T likes his new bike.

We brought the bike home with us at the end of Physical Therapy on Monday.  The weather was nice enough still Monday afternoon for Travis to go on a little bike ride with Scott and brothers.  It's been a little too cold and snowy to go riding again.

I received a phone call from Dr. Viskochil's office (T's geneticist) on Thursday morning.  They had a cancellation for this Tuesday, March 6th and wondered if we would be available to come in then (I had requested to be put on the cancellation list since we live so close).  Travis will see Dr. Viskochil on Tuesday morning, this will be the first time we've met since T's removal from the clinical drug trial.  We have lots of questions, the front and back of a sheet of paper so far...glad to have them written down.

After returning from my trip to Texas over President's Day weekend to help go through things at my grandmother's house and spend time with my family, I noticed that the tumor (lump/bulge) on T's left side above his hip looked a little bigger.  T's Physical Therapist commented on Monday that it felt a little bigger when he was helping Travis on a PT activity.

Some good medical news, Travis, Nolan and Barrett had their dental exams on Thursday.  All 3 boys look great and NO cavities!  Here's to good medical news and hoping that trend continues through March and the rest of 2012, January and February were rough.  I know God has a plan and purpose for all this.  He has guided us so far already, His love is unchanging and He will continue to be with us down this new path in T's medical care.
