Travis appears to be over the bug that plagued him off and on the past 2 weeks. So far, he's attended Pre-K each day this week and playing with Cars is at the top of his list of things to do. :) Hopefully that stays out of our house.
The orthotic department at Shriners added another 1.5 cm to T's shoe lift to help even out T when he walks, allowing T's left knee to be straighter. Travis' physical therapist coordinated with T's orthopedic team to get the order for the lift addition. After Monday's PT session, Shriners will add another 0.5 to 1.0 cm in April to get T's leg even straighter. The idea is to put T's leg in the typical position for walking (or close to that) and in turn his left foot will face more forward when T walks. His left foot was turned out to the side quite a bit and T didn't have full range of motion as possible for him when he walked. He adjusted to the 1.5 cm addition pretty good.
Thank you for all the support for T (and our family) through this latest illness, the medical issues of this year, and the medical journey we've traveled regarding NF. A friend gave me a prayer this week that spoke right to my core. We are where He wants us to be and His plan for Travis and our family. I never imagined being on this journey; yet without this journey, I would not be where I am in my faith. I shudder to think of going through this without His hand leading/guiding every aspect. Sometimes we have to be taken apart to be rebuilt, ending up so much better off than where we started. The journey to this better place shapes us in a way that can only be achieved through the path we travel.
