Shriners Appointment

Travis saw his orthopedic team at Shriners this morning for a regular checkup. Since looked so good upon examination and is doing great functionally, they decided to not do x-rays this appointment. Less radiation exposure is a really good thing, especially with NF patients. Travis' spine continues to be straight, also very good. T will see orthopedics again in 6 month, or earlier if needed.  :)

The height measurements taken at Shriners for each leg showed a  ~5 to 6 cm leg length difference...(~2 inches). The measurements at Shriners are more precise than the ones at MRI check-in. Whew!

I received a written copy of the MRI report done by the Salt Lake City radiologists (not NCI) in the mail on Tuesday. The report for the lower extremity indicates the plexiform now extends down the tibia, not just ending at the top of the calf. That report also states that there are no significant changes in size/location (compared to July '12). Will get more clarification on this in the next few days. Recall, July's MRI took longer due to the radiologist wanting the scan to extend all the way down T's left leg (and fuzzy images). Prior MRIs at Primary Children's ended at the top of the calf, so who knows when the plexi extended further down T's leg. Not surprising, the plexi is following the nerve.

Thank you for all the prayers and support. Hopefully we'll be hearing about T's volumetric analysis soon.
