We heard Travis' brain MRI results from his geneticist...all is good!!! :) Praise God! Thankfully nothing is there to give us a clue why T tilts his head to the left. We meet with the research coordinator on Friday morning for the end of course 10 blood draw. Wow...this has been a fast 4 week course with T's birthday, our trip to Cheyenne, and T getting his cast off.
While Travis isn't walking by himself, he is starting to be a little more adventurous. T makes it known that he doesn't want to walk, but we can get/trick him to walk a little. He has taken a few steps by himself with us being right there to be ready to catch him if he falls. He would rather walk holding onto our hands instead of us having our hands behind his back. However, he has figured out that he can "walk" around rooms by holding on to chairs and leaning into the walls and counters. When he does that, he's pretty quick to point out that he's walking...and rightly so. Anytime he "walks" around by himself is wonderful. (plus it saves the strain on our backs).
We have noticed that Travis slides/twists his right foot sometimes when he walks and other times he will pick up his right leg (bearing weight on the left). T has figured out how to get in and out of his chair and bed, I think he uses a lot of his upper body muscles to do this watching him tonight. I'm to call his PA at Shriners this week to let him know how Travis is doing.
Thank you for all your continued prayers, thoughts, and support.
Sounds like another little girl I know. ;)
ReplyDeleteJust think how strong his arms will be if he keeps that up for another couple weeks. His older brothers better watch out. LOL!
Hope all is well with you! We miss you guys!
