Integrative Medicine and 18th MRI

Travis and I returned to the NIH today for his week 32 of Peg-interferon checkup. He's tolerated going back on the medicine fairly well and thankfully the fevers are being controlled well with medicine. Since the last post, T saw Integrative Medicine at Primary's with his 18th MRI the next day. He enjoys his new school, classmates, and teacher.

Integrative Medicine, think complementary medicine, provides an additional option for pain relief, relaxation, and more through the use of appropriate essential oils, acupressure, acupuncture, massage, and more. Travis' reflexologist / cranio-sacral touch person moved to Germany a little more than a year ago and it was time to add in someone similar to her. Travis clicked with Ms Alyssa quickly and while she gave T a massage, she taught him some pressure point areas he could do. He loved the cream she used, asked/reminded us several times to buy that for him...that was a first. When T was on his stomach, he asked about the "hole" on the end of the table (face area for a massage). Ms Alyssa asked if T wanted to try it, T said yes. Love this pic.

The next day Travis returned to Primary's for his 18th MRI. Yes, he started in the "Cars" room before the MRI. :)  They just completed the new MRI room, more like a spa setting with a MRI machine. T was one of the first patients to use the new room (I think they said first sedated one), he thought that was pretty cool. He ate his Oreos and drank water in recovery and off we went to get the donut (actually a cinnamon roll this time).

Hopefully and prayerfully we will learn the volumetric results while being at the NIH this trip. I'm not holding my breath, today's trip was rough due to a finicky power chair battery and losing his stuffed animal cat, Sochi. We think he may have left Sochi on the shuttle from the airport to the NIH, but will have to check there in the morning.

Thank you for the prayers and support.
