Travis saw Dr. Viskochil this morning as part of his pre-Rapamycin exam. Travis looks good and was given the go-ahead to start taking Rapamycin tonight. This is the same medicine he was on as part of the clinical trial and he'll start with the dose he had when he was removed from the study. Travis saw his pediatrician last week for sinus infection and the start of an ear infection (left ear that hadn't had an infection for over 3 years). His pediatrician prescribed antibiotics and T's feeling better.
Dr Viskochil has not heard the volume of tumor from the National Cancer Institute's volumetric analysis of January's MRI. T's next appointment with Dr. V is in 4 weeks and a blood draw in 2 weeks.
We had a fabulous time in Florida and he still smiles when asked or answering questions about the race. We appreciate all the people that helped put this wonderful time together. What an incredible experience for the entire family. I'll try to post more recaps in the coming days. Thank you for the thoughts, prayers, and support.
