End of Pre-K, Dream Night at the Zoo, PT "Graduation"

The past few weeks have flown by with the end of school for all 3 boys, Dream Night at the zoo, my trip to the CTF Chapter Council and NF Forum, and the start of summer. Travis completed Pre-K at the end of May, he had an amazing year.  Travis made great progress thanks to his wonderful teacher Ms. Dannie along with Ms. Debbie and Ms. Maria. Special thanks to the special ed teachers for their help on an as-needed basis, Ms. Meredith, and his school OT during her sessions. I cried happy tears throughout the Pre-K program, especially when the kids sang "What a Wonderful World" while holding up pictures they made during the appropriate times in the song. Here's a few pics from T's last day of Pre-K.
The picture says it all.

Final hug goodbye to Ms. Dannie.
The kids released butterflies after the program. T wanted to walk out to "Simon", the name of the tree decided by T's class. To see him walk down the hall and out the door was wonderful.

The next day our family participated in Dream Night at the Zoo, a night open to special needs patients and their families. The new exhibit opened at the zoo earlier that day which was a wonderful treat in addition to the bird show put on for the families. We enjoyed the zoo in the evening and seeing the animals play, we typically see them napping.

Inspired by his older brother Barrett, Travis joined the kids' choir at our church. The choir teachers hosted a pool party to celebrate the end of choir. The kids and families had fun playing in the pool and eating "The Pie" pizza and cake. When T heard the choir teacher saying they were having a party, T asked if there would be cake. Too funny. The choir teacher's mom made the cake and put all the kids' names on it. He looked forward to cake all during the party, Travis loved his piece.

Travis continues to make great progress in physical therapy, so now he "graduates" to seeing the physical therapist every other week. Woohoo! Way to go T! Also, T loves to use his iPad and the OT recommended apps. He looks forward to working on his iPad and enjoys the apps.

While I attended the Children's Tumor Foundation NF Forum in New Orleans, I had the opportunity to meet the doctor that performs the volumetric MRI analysis on T's plexiform. We both cried and teared up the next day as we all prepared for the NF Walk around New Orleans' French Quarter.
